New Benazir Bhutto international Airport is now under construction. It would be the 2nd biggest airport of Asia continent. The total are covered by this mega structure is 3100 acres. The construction project start is 2007. The foundation stone of this project was laid by Former prime minister of Pakistan Mr Parvaiz Musharf at that time the name of the project was New Islamabad International Airport but in 2007 but it was remained after The name of late Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto by Former Prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilana.

This mega project consist on Terminal Building, 2 Runways, Taxiways, Maintenance Yard, Cargo area and aprons for biggest planes of the world. GPG a foreigner Designing company design this airport on international standerds. It would be the best equipped airport of Pakistan and it can handle the biggest aircrafts of the world like Airbus A-380. The estimated cost of the airport is 400 billion dollars. It will be the first green field airport of the Pakistan. The expected completion time of the airport is 2013 but as par progress it’s not possible before 2015. The former Defence minister of Pakistan on his visit has declared that the cargo services of the airport will be started in 2013.

This airport is located on fateh jhang road 20 km apart from zero point Islamabad. Two days before the current prime minister Raja Parvaiz Ashraf has visit the airport for progress monitoring he is briefed by the DG of CAA of Pakistan. He is satisfied by the progress and the working quality. Inshallah we are hoping best for its inauguration.
